Specifically for use in the garden, we have created an alternative to our CTC-IR-Balise: Here, we use Near Field Communication (NFC) instead of optical infrared signals.
The possibilities regarding position detection and automation with the CTC-NFC-Reader are identical to those of the IR receiver. However, with NFC there is no way to influence the transmitted data. Only a globally unique number is transmitted, which is already stored in the NFC balises by the manufacturer.
We offer the NFC balise in a design similar to the Eurobalise:
The holders are made of weather-resistant plastic. The tag placed under the yellow cover is specified according to IP68. It can withstand a rain shower, during which it may temporarily submerge.
Alternatively, you can also use other NFC tags, e.g., the NFC nails which you can obtain from us: These are inserted into the ground so that their head protrudes about 5 mm above the sleepers.
The NFC-Reader has a size of 40 mm x 42 mm:
It is mounted under the locomotive so that a reading distance of about 2 cm is achieved:
The NFC-Reader is connected with 4 cables to the CTC-Lokmodul-G.
Note: Unfortunately, the CTC-NFC-Reader cannot be connected to the CTC-Lokmodul-H0a, which is often used for small garden railway locomotives. We offer affected customers an attractive upgrade offer if required.
