This installation guide works for the three-way turnouts 55225, 55425 from Piko’s A-track range: TODO Image three-way turnout Piko A-Track
Both use two of the 55271 drives. In the example, a 3-pin header is soldered onto the cables: On the CTC-Turnout Module with the product number WI-M-4L-U, there are three cables to which a matching socket was soldered in the example.
Installing and Connecting the CTC Module
The CTC module is mounted on or under the model railway layout.
Here’s how to connect the drive to the CTC turnout module:
- Insert the pin headers from the turnout drives into the sockets on the CTC turnout module.
- Connect the brown cable to the negative pole of the power supply or the track.
- Connect the red cable to the positive pole or the other track.

Two IR balises can be connected to the four-pin socket of the turnout module. In the example in the photo, the four-pin socket was removed and the cables (red, blue, pink, grey) were soldered to copper contacts at the track connection.
Registering the CTC Module on Wi-Fi
If the CTC turnout module has not yet been registered on the model railway Wi-Fi, this is the first thing you need to do. You can find instructions for this in the operating manual in Chapter 3.1 “Registering Modules on Wi-Fi”.
Open Configuration
A registered CTC turnout module can be found by its name in the module list in the CTC app. There, click on the pencil icon to open the “Control Panel Configuration”.
Then, click on the “Change Config” button:
Add Product
In the Config dialogue, click on the plus button to the right of “Connected Products” to select which product you have connected:
Choose the product catalog “universal-turnouts” and then click on “Apply”:
Give your turnout a meaningful name and select the appropriate product and product configuration. Then click on “Apply”:
Connecting the Product
Now, you need to indicate which connectors on the CTC module the turnout is connected to. The plug used above is soldered to “W1-green” and “W1-red”. You choose “W1-green”:
Then, by clicking the “Test” button, you can check whether the turnout switches and in which direction. In my example, W1-green switches to straight. Therefore, I now choose the line “straight” under “Connections and Parameters”. By clicking on “Connect”, you assign the “left” connection to the “W1-green: Output-Pin #16” marked on the left:
Then, in the same way, you connect “W1-red” (Output-Pin #17) to the “left-straight” connection:
For the second drive, proceed exactly as for the first.
Upload Configuration
Once all the pins are connected, you can click the “Upload” button to save the changes to the CTC turnout module configuration:
The CTC turnout module will then restart.
Turnout in the Control Panel
After a few seconds, the newly configured three-way turnout appears in the control panel:
