In the meantime, such a considerable number of articles have appeared about CTC that it warrants this separate page.

At this point, we would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the dedicated editors, without whose work hardly anyone would have become aware of CTC.

May 2024 - Gartenbahnprofi

In the Gartenbahnprofi (3/2024), Hans-Jürgen Götz reports under the title “Innovation Boost” about news regarding CTC.

He concludes with the words “CTC may be one of the younger and smaller providers in the digital model railway segment, but it is also one of the first to have consistently and successfully implemented WLAN technology throughout.”

April 2024 - Digitale Modellbahn

In the DiMo (Issue 2-2024), Hans-Jürgen Götz reports under the title “Smart Innovations from CTC” about SUSI, wagon counters, and the Z21 interface.

He concludes with the words “With the new features, CTC has made a huge leap forward and now offers itself not only as a stand-alone solution but also as a complement to any model railway control system.”

February 2024 - Loki

In the article “SUSI, Z21, NFC, and more …” in Loki 2/2024, Hans-Jürgen Götz reports on the innovations since the first Loki article about CTC from May 2021.

November 2022 - Gartenbahnprofi

In his second article in the Gartenbahnprofi (6/2022), Hans-Jürgen Götz reports under the title “For Safe Driving” about the train safety and automation extended with CTC 4.

He concludes with the words: “CTC still has a lot of potential and continues to offer many unique features, whether it is the possibility of controlling everything via WLAN, operating locomotives with batteries, …”.

October 2022 - eisenbahn magazin

In the eisenbahn magazin October 2022, Heiko Herholz explains under the title “Transition from Analog to WLAN” CTC from the perspective of a user switching from an analog model railway.

He concludes with the words: “In conclusion, the CTC system offers completely new possibilities that are hardly comparable with previous control systems. This makes CTC interesting for all those who previously shied away from switching to digital control.”

January 2022 - MIBA spezial

In the MIBA spezial 133 titled “Model Railway Digital 2022 - Control with the PC”, Maik Möritz reports among other things about CTC.

He concludes with the words: “No question: CTC is certainly heading in an interesting direction and brings a lot of innovation. I have been using the system for several months to control our home garden railway and am very satisfied with it. I no longer want to miss the simple and straightforward operation with my smartphone, the practical automation options, and the simple power supply to the tracks via a two-wire cable.”

November 2021 - Gartenbahnprofi

With the article “Digital – Completely Wireless” in the Gartenbahnprofi 6/2021, Hans-Jürgen Götz reports on CTC as part of the article series “Wireless in the Garden”.

The subheading of the article begins with the words “Being able to control locomotives and turnouts just with the smartphone, without a central unit - that’s no longer a dream.”

June 2021 - Digitale Modellbahn

In the now third article in the DiMo (Issue 3-2021), Hans-Jürgen Götz reports under the title “Smart in the Garden” about news regarding the CTC system, especially regarding our modules for the garden railway.

The conclusion reads: “Now that even Märklin is converting its future wireless hand controllers to WLAN, the last doubters should have been convinced about the use of this technology in model railways. CTC has already had a few years head start here and continues to expand its portfolio.”

May 2021 - Loki

In the Swiss Loki, the first article about CTC appears in Issue 5/2021 under the title “Without Cables, Without Central Unit”.

In the conclusion, Heiko Herholz writes: “The CleverTrainControl system is the fulfillment of many dreams: a system where two wires to the track suffice as a power supply.”

September 2020 - Digitale Modellbahn

Titled “Best Regards from Lissy”, Hans-Jürgen Götz continues his report from June focusing on our infrared sensors. In the issue preview of DiMo 4-2020 linked in the title, it is fully printed.

The conclusion begins with the words: “The system has enormous future potential. By using standard WLAN components, it is relatively inexpensive and can be used worldwide without problems.”

June 2020 - Digitale Modellbahn

In the magazine “Digitale Modellbahn” (DiMo) 3-2020, the first press article about CTC appears under the title “Start Digitally and Wirelessly”.

Hans-Jürgen Götz writes in the conclusion: “Technologically, the WLAN application brings the model railway into the present, just as the classic digital protocols brought the model railway into the electronic present 40 years ago.”
