CTC-App iOS (iPhone, iPad)

Version 5.02 will follow shortly.

The CTC-App for iOS is now available in the App Store for 9.99 EUR. Currently, the app is only functional for control purposes. For configuration of CTC modules, you still need to use a Mac or PC.

The free CTC-App-Junior can only be used to control locomotives.

Notes:

  • The function to register CTC modules in the WiFi is not available on iOS, as Apple does not provide a suitable API for this.
  • Configuration of CTC modules is currently only partially available on iOS.
  • We decided on the fee in the App Store to reduce unnecessary downloads and resulting reviews.
  • Due to the certification process of the App Store, the app for iOS is always released slightly later than the desktop version.

Firmware

The firmware for the CTC modules is included in the CTC-App for Desktop. The exact version can be found in the change history (see below). A separate download is currently not planned.

Notes:

  • After updating the firmware to 20250725 or newer, it is no longer possible to revert to older versions (up to 20250627).

Improvements and additions:

  • Motors adjusted in universal locos so that the main motor is always called "Motor", even if a different name was specified
  • ActionLogger extended by senderID column
  • Trigger logic fixed in app and firmware: If the sourceID was specified in the trigger, senderID is passed in setValue, otherwise sourceID
  • ModelRailway.checkTrigger calls setValue with senderID null if the loco is the one that last triggered it, i.e. the loco that left the beacon (or reached another one)
  • XMLParser could not parse HEX numbers (e.g. in RGB color specifications)
  • Product catalogs adjusted for RGB LEDs
  • Value lists "portMode" and "outMode" added for LED bus

NEW:

  • CTC modules are also accessible and visible in the CTC app in error state and in "Config-WiFi" status

Firmware bug fix:

  • Config-WiFi did not work if no WiFi config was present (factory-new modules)

App Version 4.46, Firmware 20260105

NEW:

  • Join beacon: A beacon can now transmit its WiFi data (SSID and password) instead of the normal command. This allows a loco with IR receiver to be set to a foreign layout (via the beacon) and thus automatically join the WiFi there, see user manual chapter 3.6 "Temporary WiFi" .
  • Module list: Property "temp" indicates that the module is joined in a temporary WiFi.
  • New button in the "Change WiFi Config" dialog to delete the temporary WiFi (if present).
  • When determining the active WiFi (for "Search new modules" dialog), modules with temporary WiFi are ignored.
  • Status bar at the bottom of the PC app shows current WiFi and list of IP addresses.

  • Internationalization (English, French) only worked partially.
  • Automation scripts: Trigger adjusted so that it also fires when only the srcID has changed, i.e. a beacon is passed by a different loco.
  • Bug fix: WiFi setup crashed if the netCfg.xml read from the CTC module was empty (contained no WifiCfg)
  • Loading config files now follows the file list of the module (fileCfg.xml) instead of always trying Icon and TrackCfg.
  • Message display in config window limited to 4000 characters (prevents CTC app crash due to memory shortage)

Firmware:

  • Update of ESP32 Android base system to version 3.3.5, fixing issues with connecting to WiFi.
